Marek Bronstring’s blog

A blog about game design and development & randomness.

Former-gaming-site-turned-podcast Idle Thumbs now has all its GDC content online, ready for your consumption (though maybe you already caught some of it last week).

Firstly there’s s a series of podcasts, starring an ensemble cast of Idle Thumbs contributors/alumni including myself, Gamasutra’s Chris Remo, Shacknews’ Nick Breckon, Telltale Games’ Jake Rodkin, Duncan Fyfe of HitSelfDestruct, Steve Gaynor from 2K Marin and finally Alex Ashby and Lawrence Bishop from indie developer Beatnik Games. If you are interested in hearing a broad range of perspectives on the Game Developers Conference — from both developers and journalists — maybe you’d enjoy listening to our casts

gdcpod_background2In addition, Idle Thumbs created an eight-page newsletter containing various articles written by the aforementioned, which we then handed out at the conference. Yeah, we’re actually talking dead tree broadsheet newsletter here. I guess Idle Thumbs always bucks the trend… a website that died and then made a newspaper.

Anyway, the Journal of Games is now also available in digital PDF form for you to view non-exclusively through the Internet. So check it out and maybe you’ll find out what TOTALLY SHOCKED Tim Schafer (see: photo). No guarantees, though.
