For a couple of years an anonymous French artist went around different cities cementing Space Invader pixel mosaics to buildings. I thought these ’space invasions’ had long died off, but this week I discovered a new mosaic on the corner of my street. Either it’s been there all along and I never noticed it or — and this thought makes me excited — new invaders have started appearing.
I do nearly all of my travel in Amsterdam on foot, so it’s fun for me to try and find them. Sometimes they’re in weird places such as under a bridge, kind of like the hidden packages in Grand Theft Auto. There’s no list or map of the Amsterdam invaders (as opposed to some other cities), which is a good thing because I don’t want to cheat.
Bonus behind-the-scenes fact: the shifty-eying invader seen in this blog’s header image can be found on the bridge near Weesperplein.
Hey, my name is Marek Bronstring and I'm Head of Content at Sega. You're looking at my rarely-updated game design blog. I think this sidebar needs some more text so let me tell you what my top favorite animals are: 1) meerkats 2)
I don’t know, dude, looks like it could be a bomb.

I don’t know Marek, isn’t it just one big coincidence that this invader is cemented on the wall of the trendy itemz shop (of all places)? (btw, cool it’s in your street!!)
